Christmas Stockings
End the year on a positive note — this is a nice way to give kudos for achievements during the year. Give and receive positive feedback or well-wishes by ‘post-it presents’ for the whole the team.

Steps
- Outline the shape of large stockings on a whiteboard or large pieces of paper. One for each person in the team, with their name on it. If working remotely, you can use a tool like Miro/Mural and follow the same instructions.
- Ask the team to prepare a thank you, or well-wish note, for each and everyone in the team:
- Write 1 sentence – something positive they observed, appreciated, or a well-wish.
- Decorate a second post-it so that it looks like a present, and write the name of the receiver on top of it.
- Put the decorated post-it on top of the feedback to cover up the sentence.
- Put both post-its within the stocking outline for the person it’s intended for.
- Have an official fake Christmas morning where everyone can grab their presents and enjoy the positive thoughts.
Bonus tip
Take turns reading out the presents out loud, to share the appreciation.
Add it on to another meeting. It’s a perfect addition to the Christmas tree retrospective, where you can place the post-it presents underneath the tree instead.
